Airline Flies Forgotten Bridesmaid Dress From Houston to Costa Rica

After a woman forgot her bridesmaid dress while traveling to a destination wedding, Southwest Airlines swooped in to save the day.

Southwest Airlines came to the rescue of a maid of honor who forgot her dress for her sister’s destination wedding.

It all started last week with a tweet. A friend of Grayleigh Opperman, the maid of honor in question, begged Southwest for help.

“Southwest air help!! My friend is in a wedding on Saturday in Costa Rica but she left her bridesmaid dress here in Houston! Can we get her dress on flight #1734 tomorrow???” read the tweet.

The airline's responded: “Alright, let's do it!”

Opperman was in a tight bind. She said she didn't just forget to bring the dress with her — she forgot the dress entirely at the alteration shop.

"I didn't even realize I had forgotten it until I was getting ready for dinner one evening and I realized that dress was also at the alterations place,” Opperman told Inside Edition.

A friend dropped the dress off at a Houston airport to board a plane to Costa Rica — and the rest is mile-high history.

Southwest even tweeted updates as the precious cargo was en route.

“Lo and behold Southwest, one of their flight attendants walked out with the bag and handed it off to me,” Opperman said after her dress was delivered safe and sound.

The bride is thankful for her sister's resourcefulness and can’t believe it was pulled off without a hitch.

The maid of honor is grateful for Southwest Airlines, saying, “I am one person, they’re a huge company so it really speaks volumes about them.”
