The airline said one man remains unaccounted for.
After an airline said all 47 passengers and crew survived a plane crash in the Federated States of Micronesia, they have now announced one man remains missing.
Air Niugini said in a release that as of Saturday afternoon they were unable to account for a male passenger who was onboard.
Local authorities, hospitals and investigators are trying the find the man, the airline said.
The Air Niugini plane reportedly came in very low as it was trying to land at Chuuk Island airport and hit the end of the runway before ending up in the water on Friday.
Seven people were transported to the hospital after the crash. Six remained hospitalized in stable condition Saturday, reports said.
The airline is investigating what caused the Boeing 737-crash. It was raining heavily and there was reduced visibility during the landing, according to reports.
