The 29-year-old singer, who is a size 6 to 8, is up for best new artist at next month's awards.
Bebe Rexha says designers won't dress her for the Grammys because she's “too big.”
The 29-year-old singer, who is a size 6 to 8, is up for best new artist and best country group performance with Florida Georgia Line at next month’s awards.
“So, I finally get nominated at the Grammys and it’s like, the coolest thing ever. And a lot of times, artists will go and talk to designers and they’ll make them custom dresses to walk the red carpet,” she said in an Instagram video on Monday. “I had my team hit out a lot of designers and a lot of them do not want to dress me because I'm too big. Literally, I'm too big. If a size 6/8 is too big then I don't know what to tell you.”
She continued, “That's crazy. You're saying all the women in the world size 8 and up are not beautiful and they cannot wear your dresses.”
Lifestyle expert Bahar Takhtehchian dressed a model who was size 6-8 for Inside Edition.
"She is a knockout in this," she said.
In December, “Will and Grace” star Megan Mullally revealed she was also facing snubs by designers after being named host of the upcoming SAG Awards.
“Looks like I will be buying my dress online though, as per my usual, even though there is literally a 100 percent chance that I will be on camera, because I'M HOSTING IT,” she wrote on Instagram. “Designers do not send me dresses.”
In 2016, “SNL” star Leslie Jones shared her struggle to find an outfit for the premiere of her movie “Ghostbusters.”
"It's so funny how there are no designers wanting to help me with a premiere dress for movie. Hmmm that will change and I remember everything," she tweeted at the time.
After Rexha posted the video, designers offered to dress her, including Stella Nolasco, who has dressed stars including Beyonce, Eva Longoria and America Ferrera. "I would love to dress you!" she wrote.
Designer August Getty added, "You are beautiful! Every woman of every size is beautiful! Just let me know when I should start sketching."
Christian Siriano, who won the fourth series of "Project Runway," also offered to dress her, writing, "We have dressed @BebeRexha a few times and would love to do it again!"
Rexha says she still plans on attending the Grammys, which air Sunday, Feb. 10 on CBS.
