Cardi B, who is originally from the Bronx, handed out coats at a housing complex in Brooklyn Thursday night.
As temperatures begin to drop in New York City, rapper Cardi B is giving back to her community.
The 26-year-old star, who is originally from the Bronx, handed out hundreds of coats and sneakers at a public housing complex in Brooklyn Thursday night.
“We have to set an example for the kids,” she told CBS News. “Sometimes people think that we just do the messed up things but we really… care for the kids and our community and everything.”
Cardi B organized the drive at the Marlboro Houses with a friend from Brooklyn in less than 24 hours.
“You gotta support the people that support you," Cardi B said.
Cardi B, born Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar, was later gifted a symbolic key to the Marlboro Houses for her kind efforts.
