The dog was outside in the garden when the bird swooped down, her owner said.
A Chihuahua that was carried away by a seagull over the weekend is still missing.
Gizmo, 4, was outside in England when the bird reportedly flew down, picked him up and flew away on Sunday.
“My partner was in the garden putting the washing out at the time and suddenly he saw it swoop down. It carried Gizmo a fair way as we couldn’t see him anymore,” Becca Hill, the dog’s owner, told Devon Live. “I have no idea if he was dropped or where he is now.”
Hill has asked the community to keep a lookout for the dog.
“Gardens, rooftops, trees, under hedges etc all need looking at carefully,” the local UAV Lost Dog Search & Rescue organization posted on Facebook.
The organization has been helping look for the pup, even using drones.
The RSPCA noted that the incident wasn't “typical gull behavior" and others have suggested the story may be fake, but Hill defended herself, saying "it’s happened before."
