"This Is Us" star Chrissy Metz is the latest to be victimized while away from her home.
“This Is Us” star Chrissy Metz is reeling after her Los Angeles home was burglarized while she was in New York City.
Metz appeared on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” Monday night and around the time of her taping, her home was targeted by thieves 3,000 miles away.
The burglars reportedly smashed through a bedroom window at her home, stealing some designer purses. Inside Edition has been told her assistant came to the house because the alarm went off and discovered Metz had been robbed.
Metz is just the latest star to be victimized while she was out of town.
Los Angeles Dodgers star Yasiel Puig's home has been broken into four times while he was out of town playing baseball.
Rihanna's home was targeted while she was in London, while singer Christina Milian's home was also burglarized twice last month on days she posted photos showing herself in Puerto Rico and France.
“The victims' homes have been selected based on social media posting and touring or travel schedules,” LAPD Captain Lillian Carranza told Inside Edition.
Metz may have unwittingly let the thieves know she was in New York as she appeared on the “Today” show Monday and gushed about being in the city on social media.
