To prepare for the new arrival, Courtney decided to research ways to have fun while in the delivery room.
“This thing kept popping up, the 'baby mama dance,' so I showed Jonah one night and I was like, 'I really think we should do this,'” Courtney told InsideEdition.com.
Jonah was game, and the resulting video has been shared tens of thousands of times.
The baby mama dance is a trend in which pregnant woman dance to “Baby Mama” by Starrkeisha.
The couple said the dance really helped them get through the delivery and recommended that all pairs try to keep the labor process as fun and as light as possible.
“It’s also hopefully a celebration on a new life and you guys want to make sure you are on the same page and feeling good and staying positive,” said Jonah. “Life is full of serious moments, so it's nice to always keep a smile.”
Twenty-seven hours later, the couple welcomed Joseph Michael Platt, aka Joey.
Courtney and Jonah couldn’t be happier.
“He's literally the best.” said Courtney. “He’s the most delicious little boy and we're obsessed with him.”
