Brandon Andrew Clark’s father, Jason Clark of Fulton, New York, held his son’s mother hostage for 10 hours as he threatened to kill her and himself with a knife in January 2010, Oswego County court records and news articles said.

The father of the man charged in the killing of social media influencer Bianca Devins once threatened to kill his son’s mother in the exact same way, according to a report.

Brandon Andrew Clark’s father, Jason Clark of Fulton, New York, held his son’s mother hostage for 10 hours as he threatened to kill her and himself with a knife in January 2010, Oswego County court records and news articles obtained and viewed by The Post-Standard said

Jason Clark attacked his wife, Michelle Clark, because he believed she was cheating on him, an accusation he often got “in his head” at the time, police said the victim said.

He got on top of his wife and began beating her, and when her mother, who lived with them at the time, tried calling 911, he ripped the phone’s cord out of the wall, court documents said.

When police arrived on the scene, Jason Clark held a kitchen knife to his wife’s throat as he told them not to approach. He made his wife yell to police she was a hostage.

“Jason made me say jugular, not throat,” cops said she told them, The Post-Standard wrote. “He wanted to make sure police knew he had the knife to my jugular. I thought he was going to kill me.”

When police approached the home, Jason Clark slammed the victim’s head into a wall twice, leaving her bloodied. He eventually also wrapped her in a blanket and apologized for what he had done.

Saying he resembled “Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde,” his wife told police Jason Clark also said he loved her.

After 10 hours, law enforcement stormed the home and arrested Jason Clark.

He was charged with felony assault, criminal possession of a weapon, unlawful imprisonment, aggravated criminal contempt, misdemeanor menacing and obstructing governmental administration. He was sentenced to two to four years in prison in a plea agreement, according to The Post-Standard.

It was not immediately clear if Jason Clark and his son’s mother were still married. Court records did not mention Brandon Clark, who was 12 at the time, being home during the incident.

Less than a decade later, Brandon Clark would be arrested for allegedly slashing the throat of 17-year-old Devins. He then slit his own throat as well.

He was rushed to a local hospital with critical neck wounds but was able to be saved. As of Wednesday, he remained hospitalized.

Clark said he allegedly killed Devins after seeing her kiss another person at a concert in Queens, according to investigators. The pair returned to Utica, where he allegedly attacked her and then posted images of her body on Instagram. He has been charged with second-degree murder.
