A terrified woman called 911 for help after she was locked in the luggage compartment of a Peter Pan bus.
The woman, who has not been identified, told the operator that she had crawled into the compartment to get something out of her bag when the bus driver closed the compartment, locking her in. Fortunately, she had her cellphone to dial 911.
"I need help. Nobody knows where I am," the desperate woman says. "... Please, is someone going to be able to help?"
State troopers traced the call to a bus traveling on Interstate 84 from Hartford, Connecticut, to Boston. They pulled over the bus and successfully freed the woman.
The bus driver was initially arrested for reckless endangerment, but the charge was dropped on Tuesday. The driver's attorney, Nate Barber, said his client "vehemently denies" knowingly locking the woman in the luggage compartment.
He added that the driver is disappointed at ever being charged in the first place.
