Sean “Diddy” Combs is mourning the death of his ex-girlfriend, who passed away suddenly Thursday.
Kim Porter, 47, was found dead in her Los Angeles home Thursday. She had been suffering from pneumonia, according to multiple reports.
“Diddy is devastated and shocked,” a source told People. “He and Kim were still very close friends and co-parents even though their romantic relationship didn’t work.”
The model and actress was in an on- and off-again relationship with Diddy from 1994 to 2007, and they share 11-year-old twin daughters Jessie James and D’Lila, and a 20-year-old son, Christian.
Porter also has a 27-year-old son, Quincy, from a previous marriage, whom Diddy helped raise.
Celebrities took to social media after the news of Porter’s death was announced.
“This is heavy. heartbroken about this man. we lost a real one today, beautiful inside and out,” Rihanna wrote in an Instagram post. “so many will be affected by this, some won’t even know why...but the whole world was graced by the vibrance in your spirit…”
Kevin Hart also expressed his condolences.
“RIP Kim....Your were a beautiful person inside and out,” Hart’s Instagram post read. “My prayers go out to the entire family. @diddy you & your family are loved by so many...You are God's child and he will see u and ur entire family thru this. Stay strong man....Nothing but love for u.”
The Los Angeles County coroner said an autopsy to determine Porter’s cause of death is currently pending.
