"The Rock" said his friend is "doing very well."
Dwayne Johnson couldn't help but make jokes about his friend Kevin Hart when giving an update on the comedian's recovery after a car crash.
Hart was supposed to appear on the premier of "The Kelly Clarkson Show," but because he's in the hospital recovering from back injuries, "The Rock" went in his place.
When asked how his little buddy was doing, Johnson got sentimental.
“These things happen in life. And thank god he was strapped in tight to his carseat,” he joked to host Kelly Clarkson. “We spoke to his pediatrician, and he’s doing very well. He’s bummed he couldn’t be here, as you know, but I love the guy, he’s one of my best friends. Thank god. It could’ve been a lot worse. He’s a lucky man. I wish him the best.”
The two actors appeared in "Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle" and "Central Intelligence" together.
Hart was riding in his vintage car last week when the driver lost control and the vehicle veered off the highway and crashed into a ditch. Hart reportedly broke his spine and underwent surgery to repair the damage. He's able to walk but has begun physical therapy to continue recovering.
