Williams doesn't seem to be missing that paycheck.
Brian Williams made his first public appearance since being suspended for six months from NBC's Nightly News.
The newsman stepped out from seclusion to attend a charity event supporting his Alma Mater, Mater Dei Prep, a Catholic High School in New Jersey. Williams personally donated $50,000 to the school from which he graduated in 1977.
He helped save his old school which is currently facing closure if they are unable to raise one million dollars.
With help from Williams, the school has raised nearly $950,000.
Williams made no remarks about the suspension. Instead, he focused on his school, saying, "It's a wonderful school, and it should be open for a long time, for everybody."
