Picking up her daughter Apple from school on a Vespa scooter, Gwyneth Paltrow had a close call cutting in front of a school bus. INSIDE EDITION has the scoop.
It was a frightening near-miss involving Gwyneth Paltrow and a school bus, and it was all caught on camera.
The Oscar-winner actually cut off a school bus while driving a Vespa scooter with nine-year-old daughter Apple riding behind her. The school bus driver hit the brakes and Paltrow kept right on moving through Los Angeles traffic, followed by husband Chris Martin on another Vespa with their seven-year-old son, Moses, aboard.
They all stopped at a traffic light and acted like the near-miss never happened, but on the video it's clear that Paltrow and Apple came within a foot-and-a-half from colliding with the school bus.
Paltrow is now coming under fire for the near-miss.
"What were you thinking, Gwyneth?" wrote one internet commentator.
"Wow that was close!" wrote another.
Vespa scooters like the one Gwyneth Paltrow was driving are popular because they allow you to maneuver easily through heavy traffic. But riding small, lightweight bikes like them carries a risk because you have virtually no protection but a helmet.
Paltrow must have seen all that critical reaction online because today, she was spotted driving daughter Apple to school and had two video cameras mounted on the front and rear of her Vespa.
Following right behind Paltrow and Apple were her husband and son on a Vespa, and on another Vespa was a security guard in a bright yellow jacket.
Paltrow's spokeperson released a statement about her near-miss: "Gwyneth was being followed by several very aggressive paparazzi and they kept swerving in front and back of her and made her very nervous driving and resulted in her pulling in front of the bus when she thought the bus had stopped."
Safety first, Gwyneth!
