For decades, strange images in photographs have been said to reveal ghosts, paranormal activity and angels.
Angel in the Sky?
A Texas man spotted this image while driving on the highway.
He said he and his wife were going through stressful times and the angelic figure was a sign of peace for them.
"We both saw the angel and felt it meant that everything will be ok. I just felt like God was saying, I'm always with you.”
The Brown Lady of Raynham Hall
The Brown Lady of Raynham Hall is reportedly the ghost of Lady Dorothy Walpole and one of Britain's most famous hauntings. According to lore, she committed adultery and was ordered to never leave the house. She died from smallpox in 1726.
A Little Girl Ghost in 'The Shining' Hotel?
Jay Mausling was on a "spirit tour" of The Stanley Hotel in Colorado, which was used as a model for "The Shining," when he snapped photos inside the 108-year-old lodge. After the trip, he saw what appeared to be a little girl in a white robe when looking through his photos. But there had been no girl in the room when he snapped the picture. "People are like, 'You Photoshopped this,' and I am like, 'I don't even know how to use my cellphone,''' Mausling told InsideEdition.com.
Is There a Dismembered Hand in This Old Photograph?
This 100-year-old photo of girls working in a linen factory freaked out the internet when it recently surfaced on the website Belfast Live. The girl on the far right appears to have a disembodied hand resting on her shoulder. Some who viewed the image thought the hand was some kind of optical illusion. Others thought it was some kind of occult occurrence.
Man Live Streams Cloud Angel
A South Carolina man pulled to the side of a road to live stream what he called "his angel." More than six million people viewed it. "Nobody will believe me if I didn't do this live," he said. "I want you to look at this cloud in the sky." He told Inside Edition he was "dumbstruck" by what he saw. "I'd never seen anything like it with my own two eyes."
An Angel Over the World Trade Center Memorial?
In 2016, freelance photographer Rich McCormack made an image of the World Trade Center's annual Tribute in Light. Atop the twin beams, meant to memoralize the towers that toppled on Sept. 11, 2001, appears a white, blurry figure that McCormack thought was Jesus. Others who viewed the viral photo saw an angel.
An Angel in the Clouds?
A Florida man on his way home from work in 2014 took this photo. One of his employees later posted it to social media, suggesting it was an angel, possibly Gabriel blowing his trumpet. Or maybe it was the Lord, she wrote.
Ghostly Image of 'Guardian Angel' Tornado Victim
The bereaved family of 9-year-old Nicolas McCabe, who was killed during a 2013 Oklahoma tornado, drew comfort from a ghostly image of him they say appeared in a photo. The McCabes said their dead boy appeared as a guardian angel in a picture of his young cousin playing with sparklers on July 4. "I believe he's watching over us," the father said.
The Amityville Horror
In Amityville, N.Y., Ronald DeFeo Jr. killed all six members of his family on Nov. 13, 1974, shooting his parents and four siblings with a .35 Marlin rifle. Dad Ronald Sr., 44, Mom Louise, 42, sisters Dawn 18, and Allison, 13 and brothers Marc 12, and John, 9, were all found dead in their beds. After the killings, the new owners of the Long Island home claimed it was haunted. Paranormal investigators set up cameras, which led to the above photo, allegedly of John's ghost.
Nursing Home Grim Reaper?
This photo was allegedly taken by a nursing home resident just minutes after another patient died in 2015. Staff and residents said they heard a door opening and closing, but no one was there. Was the blurry image the Grim Reaper or the soul of the recently departed?
An Angel and a Truck
Is this glowing silhouette levitating above a pickup really an angel? Glen Thorman says it is. "I was just like, 'Whoa!' I thought, 'That's an angel!''' he told Inside Edition. His wife, Rhonda, said, "I do truly consider it a blessing. It's definitely an angel."
Boy With Down Syndrome Takes Photo of His Guardian Angel
Kerri Liles was on a plane with her son, AAsher, who has Down syndrome, when she handed him her cellphone so he could take photos from his window seat. The mom didn't think twice about it until later, when she looked at the images AAsher had captured. In one frame was a cloud in the shape of a man, and Liles believes it is her son's guardian angel. “AAsher has always had something. Whether it’s his guardian angel, whether it’s someone watching him. I guess we’ll never really know exactly what it is," she said.
Ghost on the Set of 'Three Men and a Baby'?
For years, urban legend had it that a child had died during the filming of the 1980s classic "Three Men and a Baby." His ghost, it was said, could be seen lurking behind the curtains in a scene with Ted Danson. In 2017, during an appearance on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," Tom Selleck set the record straight. No one died during filming, he said. The figure in the window was a cardboard cutout of Danson's vain character who kept images of himself all over the apartment he shared with two friends.
Ghost Girl in the Woods
Authorities released this eerie photo from a trail camera in upstate New York, trying to figure out what or who was in the image. Local businessman Chic Wilson came forward, saying that was no ghost, but his granddaughter. The two had been out walking in the woods, he said. The grainy image had prompted hundreds of comments and shares on social media and some residents were convinced a ghost was haunting the area.
Mary Todd Lincoln Comforted by Her Dead Husband
William Mumler, a controversial photographer in the 1800s, claimed to be able to capture spirits in his photographs, including this one of the widowed Mary Todd Lincoln. The new science of photography allowed Mumler to build a lucrative business from inserting the images of lost loved ones into new images that he claimed captured people in the "spirit world." He was also denounced as a charlatan and a swindler.
Seances and Photos of the Summoned Dead
Medium William Hope made quite a bundle for himself by taking "spirit photographs" of the departed, and then selling them to grieving relatives. He founded a group known as the Crewe Circle. They conducted seances in the early 1900s for people who lost loved ones in World War I. He was eventually outed as a fraud who used glass plates with ghostly images on them when he took his photos at seances.

Lord Combermere's Ghost
This 1891 photograph of Combermere Abbey Library in Britain shows what seems to be the faint image of Lord Combermere, as his funeral took place. Sybell Corbet, the sister of his widow, Lady Combermere, had set up a camera in the library with an hour-long exposure. When she developed the film, there appeared to be what the family believed was Combermere himself, sitting in his favorite chair.
A Spirit Spotted Over the Tower of London
A man believes he may have spotted a ghost in eerie footage shot at the Tower of London.
Paranormal investigator Mark Vernon, 52, visited the historic building in June, when he recorded a video showing an unusual grey shape moving around in the sky near the tower.
"I could feel the presence," Vernon said. "It's like a little electrical shock when a presence comes close to me."
Vernon believes the "figure" he captured was the entity of a lost soul from the tower.
“That's why I started filming," he said.
An Apparition Caught on Camera?
A mother spotted what she believed was the ghostly image of a centuries-old figure in a video she took of her 5-year-old son playing.
It seemed like the plot of a horror movie as a mother in southwest England recorded a video of her 5-year-old son riding his bike on the grounds of the centuries-old mansion.
But when reviewing the video later at home, it appeared she unknowingly captured someone else, a woman seen looking down at her son from one of the windows.
A Miscarried Baby Back to Haunt the Family?
A Toronto mother-of-two went through the trauma of a miscarriage and now believes her family's home is visited by the ghost of the baby she lost. Under the pseudonym "Melissa," the woman told reporters that one evening, after she turned on her daughter Leah’s babycam, she saw what she believes was the face of a ghost staring back at her 8-month-old.
Lending a Hand?
A Wisconsin father captured a bone-chilling image in a photo of his son only days after the dad suffered a near-death experience himself.
Less than a week after Chris Downing suffered a near-fatal heroin overdose, the father of two snapped a picture with his son and daughter while his family visited him in 2012.
A week later, his daughter called saying the photo appeared to include a “ghost hand” resting on Downing’s little boy’s leg.
“I honestly think it’s a ghost. I don’t know what else it could be,” he said. “I think maybe because I was in such a dark place, spirits were attracted to me. Or I could have bought something paranormal back with me from when I nearly died – like they were clinging on to me.
“It’s the creepiest thing I’ve ever seen.”
Ghostly Monk?
Rosie Boulton, 19, said she has seen ghostly orbs before, but nothing like the image she spotted after a late night exploring Tintern Abbey in Wales. Boulton travels to “haunted” locations to snap photos each week, and this time, she may have gotten what she was looking for. The teen captured what she believes was the ghost of a monk. She spotted it while going through photos after the visit.
A Spirit Spotted in the Window
A personal trainer got the fright of his life when he filmed what he believes to be a ghost, lurking in the window of a castle in England.
Tony Ferguson, 33, at first believed he was the victim of a prank when he noticed something moving in the video he took while at Hurst Castle in Hampshire on Sept. 8.
“I didn’t see the figure until I watched the footage back, but the whole time I was in the castle I felt something watching me,” he told Caters.
In the footage, it appeared there was a figure moving in a window, but Ferguson said no one would have been able to fit in that space.
Ghost of a Boy Who Drowned in a Lake?
An Ohio teen believes he has captured an image of a ghost inside his car while trying to photograph a beautiful sunrise.
An avid nature photographer, Troy Vance, 15, told Caters News Agency he was "really creeped out" after zooming in on the picture.
"I ... saw the ghostly face in the windshield," he said. "... My heart just stopped. I was in complete shock."
He added: “There was no one in the truck. I just can’t explain it."

Private chef Kristie Ranieri took a photo recently at the now-dilapidated former summer home of Ginevra King in Lake Forest, Illinois, and in the chilling picture is an image that appears to look like the owner.
King was a former lover of the acclaimed American author and is said to be the basis of Daisy in Fitzgerald’s 1925 masterpiece “The Great Gatsby.” Daisy was Gatsby's love interest in the book. In real life, King and Fitzgerald were involved for a time.
This Hairdresser Claims Her Mother's Ghost Is Hanging Out at Her Salon
When a spooky image showed up on Charlotte YD Hale's surveillance cameras, she recognized it immediately as the ghost of her own mother.
"One particular evening, I was checking my cameras and I saw something. Instantly I thought, 'Oh my gosh, is that you, Mummy?'" she told Caters News Agency. Hale, who runs a hair salon in England, claimed the ghost even recognized her. "As I said, 'Mummy?' she even moved slightly on the screen and then came back. I had no doubt in my mind at all it was my mum."
Hale's mom, Yvonne Dorothy, died of an illness eight years ago.

Griffiths' grandfather Alan Price died more than two years ago, but since his passing, some of Griffiths' family members have reported some unusual activity at the home where Price used to live.
Recently, while visiting his grandpa's old house, where his uncle now lives, Griffiths snapped a photo he believes shows Price peering out the kitchen window.
