Bride Wears Wedding Gown in 33 Countries: See the Breathtaking Photos

Nick and Zoe intended to leave for their honeymoon six days after their wedding and planned their first four months abroad. 

"When we left, we really didn't have an idea of how long we'd go for. We didn't want to put expectations on ourselves just in case something happened and we had to head home early," Zoe said.

"We made a promise that if the trip ever started to take a toll on either of us, we'd head home and there would be no judgement," Zoe explained. 

Nick and Zoe said they began pondering this adventure since their first date because of their shared love of travel and thirst for new experiences.

Both of them are originally from northern New Jersey: Nick from Mahwah and Zoe from Hawthorne.

"The world is too big to only stay in your little town your entire life," Zoe said. 

The couple traveled to 33 countries in 10 months, and even though it was hard to pick a favorite, Nick and Zoe said some of the places that stood out included Japan, Turkey, New Zealand, Nepal and South Africa.

The newlyweds left six days after their wedding and spent then next 10 months travelling.

Zoe recalled, "We got married on New Year's Eve of 2017 surrounded by family and friends and we brought in 2018 filled with love, an overflow of food and lots of dancing!"

"It all happened so fast," she said. "I still didn't feel like we just got married!"

Nick and Zoe toured the Colosseum in Rome in their wedding attire.

Their blog and Instagram, Marry Me in Travel, was all about finding their passions and discovering what makes them happy, they explained. 

"When we got engaged we realized it was now or never," Zoe said. "Life moves so quickly." 

"This trip and every time we put on our wedding attire is really about breaking free of what others expect you to do and actually doing what you want to do," Zoe said. 

"Everyone’s story looks different. We want ours to be filled with experiences that cause us to grow, an overflowing appreciation for different cultures and an overwhelming amount of thankfulness," Zoe said.

Despite having visited so many beautiful places, Zoe and Nick said their favorite part of the journey was spending time with each other.

Zoe said of their growth as a couple, "You rely on each other for everything and you learn to trust each other on a different level."

"You feel an overwhelming amount of thankfulness and it’s even better when you get to share that with the person you care so deeply for," Zoe said.

Zoe took a dip in the Indian Ocean wearing her wedding dress.

Nick matched his attire with boots during their hike to Mount Cook.

The Austs gazed into the white Cyclaidic houses of Oia in Santorini.

Zoe took a stroll through Singapore's botanic gardens in her wedding dress.

"[We're so] thankful for new cultures, new food, new experiences and meeting such kind people along the way," Zoe said.
