It was just by chance.
A New Jersey mother, her newborn baby and the child's grandmother all share the same birthday.
Theresa Dunn was born on Nov. 19, 1986, the date was predicted by her mother, Clara Gregory, who always had a feeling Dunn would be born on her birthday.
“I was supposed to be born on Thanksgiving,” Dunn told InsideEdition.com. “My mom kept telling the doctors that I was going to be born on her birthday.”
Lo and behold, Dunn was born naturally on the same day as her mother.
“We always joked for many years before I got pregnant and my mom said, ‘If you have a child, it will be born on your birthday,’” Dunn said.
Dunn’s first son, 2-year-old Mason, however, was born in April.
When she got pregnant again this year, doctors said her baby would arrive on Christmas Day, and the thought of giving birth on her own birthday wasn’t even considered.
But she developed preeclampsia early on in her pregnancy, and it became high-risk.
“When my condition started getting worse, my mom was like, ‘I think he is going to be born on your birthday,’” Dunn said.
On Nov. 16, Dunn, who was 34 weeks, was admitted to the hospital for monitoring and she thought would then be sent home. After a few hours, doctors decided to induce. Still, Dunn thought she’d give birth by the next day.
“I was in labor for three days," Dunn said. "He was not coming out on the 16th, 17th or 18th. Saturday evening, I realized he might be born on my birthday.”
And he was. Dunn had an emergency cesarean section on Nov. 19 and gave birth to Micah on her birthday, just like her mom had told her.
“It hit me that my mom was right,” Dunn said. “I thought she was going to be surprised, but she just kept saying, ‘I told you.’”
