Haunting video captured some of Ally Kostial's final moments, as she hugged a friend while leaving a bar in Oxford, Mississippi, just before midnight.
The footage shows the 21-year-old Ole Miss student hailing an Uber and getting in at 11:56 p.m. last Friday. Her body was found early Saturday, riddled with bullets.
Brandon Theesfeld, 22, who attended college with Kostial, was arrested on suspicion of murder Monday. He has not yet entered a plea, though his father said he plans to plead not guilty.
“I know my son is innocent,” Daniel Theesfeld said in a statement to WMC Action News. “And I have reasons to believe that I can’t share anything now. But I would ask everybody to please give him the presumption of innocence until proven otherwise.”
Recently surfaced photos show Brandon and Kostial's relationship, which friends said was casual.
"They were certainly not exclusive," Rex Ravita, who lived in the same dorm as Brandon, told Inside Edition. "They were most definitely on and off seeing each other."
Brandon is the son of a wealthy doctor from Fort Worth, Texas.
"He would constantly reference his dad's money and how his dad could get him out of everything," Ravita added.
