A mom is inconsolable after realizing she forgot to drop toddler daughter at day care.
A two-year-old girl died in the backseat of her mother’s car after the woman forgot to drop her off at day care and went to work, authorities in Mississippi said.
The mother didn’t realize her mistake until she went to the Little Footprints Learning Center to pick up the child, only to be told she hadn’t brought her to the facility that day.

“They told the mother ‘You didn’t drop her off this morning,’ and the mother immediately became distraught, ran out to the car and realized the two-year-old was still in the car,” said Madison County Sheriff Randy Tucker, according to WLBT-TV.
The girl’s body was strapped in her car seat in the back of the mother’s SUV, Tucker said.
The woman has not been charged with a crime. “It looks like a tragic accident,” the sheriff said.
