Inside Edition sat down exclusively with Dannielynn Birkhead, who was just months old when her mother died nearly 10 years ago.
The daughter of the late Anna Nicole Smith has spent the last decade growing up without her mother, but carries her personality everywhere.
Dannielynn Birkhead is the spitting image of Anna Nicole Smith, who passed away 10 years ago this month.
Smith’s life was the story of legend – a small town girl from Texas who shot to fame as a Guess jeans model and later Playboy's Playmate of the Year.
The 39-year-old was also known for her hard-partying lifestyle. Then in June, 2006, she announced that she was pregnant.
Dannielynn was born that September, but tragedy struck five months later, as mother died of a drug overdose in Florida.
Overnight, Dannielynn became the most famous baby in the world. Much like everything in her mom’s life, it was a circus, with five men claiming they were her father, including Frederic Prinz von Anhalt, husband of the late Zsa Zsa Gabor.
It would take a court-ordered paternity test to reveal the truth that Anna Nicole’s photographer boyfriend, Larry Birkhead, was the father.
Now, Larry is raising Dannielynn in a 10,000-square-foot home outside Louisville, Kentucky.
Dannielynn's bedroom is every little girl's dream, featuring a Peter Pan theme. Inside the room, Larry pointed out to Inside Edition a painting that Anna Nicole created for her daughter before the girl was born.
"To my baby who is in my belly right now," a message on the painting reads. "Seven-and-a-half months. I love you. July 31, 2006."
The 10-year-old is a regular kid who loves to dance, play with stuffed animals, and make goofy impressions of Donald Trump. She's also learning how to play the violin.
Larry protects his little girl from all the drama that still surrounds her late mom.
The internet is rife with speculation that Dannielynn is one of the world's wealthiest children. At the time of Anna Nicole's death she was battling the estate of her late billionaire husband, oil tycoon J. Howard Marshall.
"The money she gets doesn't come from anything with her mom. I think some people think I’m sitting back spending a lot of money that Anna Nicole left behind. It's all just nonsense," he told Inside Edition.
Larry is focused on the challenges of raising Dannielynn as a single dad. He says that getting her ready in the morning for school is no easy feat. He helps her do her hair and makes her lunch. At the end of the day, he sits with her and helps her with her homework.
As the 10th anniversary of her mother's death approaches, the single father works hard keeping his daughter’s life normal.
"I think here in Kentucky is as normal as you can get. She loves school. She loves her friends,” he said. “I just hope that she dreams big and accomplishes a lot."
