Authorities say the trio repeatedly punched the two correctional deputies at Cook County Jail in Illinois.
A sheriff is seeking attempted murder charges for three inmates who were captured on surveillance cameras brutally attacking two guards.
The trio repeatedly punched the two correctional deputies at about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday in the super maximum division of Cook County Jail in Illinois, authorities said.

Surveillance footage shows one of the guards apparently getting into an altercation with an inmate. Other detainees then run over to see what's happening and begin throwing punches.
The two guards end up on the ground as they're surrounded by inmates. Eventually, they manage to escape the room and stumble for help. One can be seen running away while holding his head.
Other officers swarm inside and hold all inmates down on the ground, bringing the situation under control.
Both deputies were taken to local hospitals. One suffered a broken orbital bone and the other lost consciousness and had to stay overnight in hospital for observation.
One of the men accused in the attack, Terrence Lynom, has been held at the jail since 2014 on an attempted murder charge for allegedly shooting a 6-year-old girl as she rode her scooter in Chicago.

The other two men, David Bush, 19, and Taiwan McNeal, 20, are being held at the jail on attempted murder charges for allegedly shooting an off-duty police officer in 2015. Both have pleaded not guilty in that case.
The three detainees have multiple disciplinary incidents since they've been in custody, authorities said.
Cook County Sheriff Thomas J. Dart is working with the Cook County State's Attorney’s Office to seek attempted murder charges for the men. The investigation is ongoing.
