The storm is predicted to make landfall in Florida this weekend.
Floridians are hitting the road as traffic from as far south as Miami is jamming highways as Hurricane Irma looms.

Many highways in The Sunshine State look more like parking lots as citizens seek refuge from the storm elsewhere.
A group of Miami roommates are fleeing the city, save for one, who is a nurse and has to work.
"I feel like the hospital is the safest place I can be,” Alexandra Beverly told Inside Edition.
“I have been through a couple of hurricanes but I have never seen a reaction like this,” one of her roommates added.

In the Florida Keys, there are already mandatory evacuation orders and residents are especially vulnerable because there is only one road in and out of each island and the ocean lies a few feet on either side of the connecting bridges.
"If you're told to evacuate, get out quickly," Gov. Rick Scott said Wednesday at a press conference. "We can expect additional evacuations as this storm continues to come near our state."
The storm is expected to make landfall this weekend after lashing the Caribbean.
