Just-released text messages from the alleged Steubenville rape victim were presented in the trial revealing that she had no memory of what happened that night. INSIDE EDITION has the very latest.
It's a shocking just-released text message from the 16-year-old girl allegedly raped by two high school football players.
"Oh my god, tell me this isn't true," the victim texted a boy who was at the party. He replied: "You were like dead."
Another text was, "Tell me right now what the (blank) happened last night because I need to know the truth. People keep asking me and I don't know what to say."
The girl told her friend she had no memory of the night and thought she might have been drugged.
"Swear to god I don't remember anything with them," she texted. "I wasn't being a slut. They were taking advantage of me."
At the heart of the emotionally charged testimony today was the issue of consent. Did the young woman at the center of this rape case actually agree to the sexual contact? The prosecution says no way, while the defense tells a different story.
Ma'lik Richmond and Trent Mays, star players on the Steubenville, Ohio, Big Red football team, have pleaded not guilty to raping the girl.
INSIDE EDITION's Paul Boyd spoke to Ma'lik Richmond's attorney outside court.
"You're standing here today, saying those boys did nothing wrong that night?" asked Boyd.
"I'm not going to be provoked about the facts. We are going to introduce those in the courtroom," said the attorney, Walter Madison.
Texts from Trent Mays were also introduced into evidence. He texted the victim's father: "This is all a big misunderstanding. She was really drunk. I never once tried to do anything forcibly with your daughter."
Another text from Mays to a male friend seems to suggest he was trying to set up an alibi: "Just say she came to your house and passed out."
But the friend texted back: "I saw the pix, bro, don't lie."
The defense claims the distubing photo that has outraged the nation was actually staged--that the girl wasn't out-of-it like it she appears.
Mays' lawyer Adam Newman said, "Several witnesses indicated she was conscious. That photograph was staged. That Instagram photo was taken out of context. She was conscious."
Now, weighing in on the sensational case is actress Traci Lords. She was interviewed Thursday night by CNN's Piers Morgan.
"I was born and raised in Steubenville and I was also raped in Ohio," said Lords.
Lords is a former adult film star who appeared in the 1990 movie Cry Baby. She says she was raped by a 14-year-old boy in Steubenville when she was only 10 years old.
Lords said, "Most of Ohio calls Steubenville, "Stupidville" because there is a lot of alcohol and there is a lack of regard for women."
Lords says she's now speaking out to support the alleged victim in a small town where football is king.
Lords said, "I was so horrified by these images and the way that this young girl was treated. It made me really angry. They treated her like she was an animal. They're carrying her around like she's a pig."
