The woman claims she was at the wrong house.
A Texas homeowner was at work when she checked her home security camera and noticed someone taking packages from her porch.
“Hey, what are you doing?” Michelle Tull asks the woman over the loud speaker in video captured by the camera in question. Her voice, seemingly out of nowhere, startles the stranger.
“Put my packages back on the porch,” Tull goes on to demand.
“Oh, my God, I’m so sorry. I'm so sorry,” the woman replies, claiming she was at the wrong house, then returning the packages.
Tull told Inside Edition she isn't sure if it was a genuine mistake or something more nefarious. She said the woman seemed very apologetic and cops told her that the woman's response is typical among thieves caught in the act.
“I talked to the police officers who came to my house and they did say that, ‘Yeah, people who do these things, say those things, they have a plan. We've been having problems in this area,’” she said.
But Tull said that if the woman truly was a so-called porch pirate, she would have been in for a surprise: The packages only contained kitty litter.
