From the flowers to the hymns, Diana's spirit was felt at the historic event.
As Prince Harry and Meghan Markle married on Saturday, his late mother was never far from anyone's thoughts.
The historic event at St. George's Chapel included subtle references to Princess Diana, who passed away nearly 21 years ago.
Guests arriving at the chapel walked through a beautiful archway of white peonies and white garden roses, Diana’s favorite flowers.
The same type of flowers were planted in Kensington Palace’s White Garden in 2017 to mark the 20th anniversary of her death.
On Friday, Prince Harry reportedly handpicked several flowers from the palace to include in his bride's bouquet.
Diana's three siblings, Earl Spencer, Lady Jane Fellows and Lady Sarah McCorquodale, were all in attendance, with Lady Jane Fellows giving a reading from the Song of Solomon.
Ahead of the ceremony, the palace said in a statement, "Prince Harry and Ms. Markle both feel honoured that Lady Jane will be representing her family and helping to celebrate the memory of the late Princess on the wedding day."
The couple also honored Harry's mother by including the hymn "Guide Me, O Thy Great Redeemer" in the service. The same song was sang at her funeral in 1997, when Prince Harry was just 12.
Elton John, a friend of Diana's, attended the service with his husband, David Furnish, and will reportedly perform at the couple's reception later on Saturday.
Even before the wedding day, Prince Harry included his mother in the celebrations. He proposed to Meghan with an engagement ring that contains two diamonds that once belonged to Diana "to make sure that she's with us on this crazy journey together," he told the BBC.
"It's so important to me to know that she’s a part of this with us," Meghan added.
In the same interview, Harry added that his mother would have loved Meghan.
They would have been "thick as thieves," he said. "Without question."
