The report has fueled rumors of a rift between the two women.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding might have been a fairy tale but a new report said there may have been drama going on behind the scenes.
The Daily Telegraph, a British newspaper, reported that Kate Middleton was left in tears at a dress fitting for Princess Charlotte before the wedding.
It's not clear what caused the Duchess of Cambridge to be upset, though some have pointed to the recent birth of Prince Louis as having made Kate particularly emotional.
“Kate was postpartum. Anyone who has a baby knows that you tend to cry a lot when you’ve had a baby so something triggered those tears,” Victoria Arbiter, a royal commentator, told Inside Edition.
But others say the report is just the latest sign of a rift between Meghan and Kate. It’s been frequently pointed out that the pair have vastly different personalities.
“Kate was born sort of this English rose in the Berkshire countryside. She is the epitome of English,” Arbiter said. “Then we have Meghan who has been thrust in, not just into the royal family, but from another country from an entirely different background.”
Arbiter added that the biggest issue may be the two ladies with very different personalities expected to be “best friends” immediately just because they are married to brothers.
“I think a relationship takes time to build,” Arbiter said.
