Lady Gaga is aware of the grief survivors of those shootings must be feeling, so she also offered a message of positivity as they continue to heal.
Lady Gaga's "heart goes out" to the people living in El Paso, Dayton and Gilroy, where recent mass shootings claimed more than 30 lives. To help them come back stronger from the tragedies, she's taking on some costs for the new school year.
The pop star said on Facebook Friday that she's funding the classroom project needs in the cities. That comes out to more than 160 classrooms: 14 in Dayton, 23 in Gilroy and 125 in El Paso. She said those students and teachers "will now have access to the support they need to inspire their students to work together and bring their dreams to life."
"In this moment, I want to channel my confusion, frustration, and fury into hope. Hope that we are there for each other and for ourselves," Lady Gaga wrote in her post.
She is working with her Born This Way Foundation and DonorsChoose.org to pay for the projects.
The three mass shootings happened within a week. On July 28, a gunman killed three people at a garlic festival in Gilroy, California. A shooter then gunned down 22 people at a Walmart in El Paso, Texas, on Aug. 3. Hours later, a man killed nine people in a popular downtown area of Dayton, Ohio.

"Surviving and recovering from these tragedies also means prioritizing your mental health and checking in on your loved ones. If you’re struggling, please be brave and tell a trusted someone. Don’t be scared to ask for help, I beg you. If you see a loved one struggling, please be brave and reach out, remind them it’s ok to not be ok, and listen to them. We cannot turn away from ourselves. We cannot turn away from our loved ones. We need each other. Don’t turn away," she wrote.
