Robbie is old and slow, but incredibly loyal.
An old dog needs a new home.
Robbie, a Scottish terrier, stayed by the side of his dead owner's body for three days before someone finally found him. The small, wheat-colored dog was covered in ticks, dehydrated and had open sores on his back.
His foster mother, Susan Jacoby, is caring for the 14-year-old pup until a suitable adoption home becomes available, WDJT reported.
Robbie's previous owner was a 93-year-old man who died from heart disease and heat exhaustion at his home in Wisconsin's rural Columbia County. The dog stood guard after he died in his garden.
"I was like 'Are you kidding me?' This dog was out there for three days, no water, no food," Jacoby told WDJT.
"He's a very loyal dog. He's a survivor and he's just going to keep going. He's a fighter."
Robbie doesn't get around so well anymore, and he definitely enjoys just sitting in Jacoby's lap.
"He's going to be a great dog for someone who is looking for a low-key, low-energy, no-energy dog," Jacoby said. But he's "very loyal ... to the end," she said.
