2,492-Carat Diamond Found in Botswana

A 2,492-carat diamond has just been found in Botswana. This spectacular stone is now the second largest rough diamond, behind the 3,106-carat Cullinan Diamond found in South Africa over 100 years ago. Botswana is the second largest producer of natural diamonds in the world, behind Russia. With the rise in lab grown stones and diamond alternatives lowering the value of mined diamonds, President Mokgweetsi Eric Keabetswe Masisi says diamonds like this one "mean everything" to Botswana.
