40 Strangers Form Chain to Rescue Swimmers on Lake Michigan

More than 40 good Samaritans came together to form a human chain to save swimmers caught in a deadly riptide. The chain was crafted at the beach on Lake Michigan over the weekend. Inside Edition spoke to Good Morning America meteorologist Ginger Zee about the strange occurrence of riptides in a lake. "The Great Lakes are notorious for [rip currents]," she said. Zee added when she was living and working there, “we had deaths every single summer.”
