Dog Refuses to Leave Veteran’s Side as She’s Injured During Mountain Hike
July 18, 2018
An injured woman has been rescued by a helicopter after a terrible fall off Washington's Mount St. Helens, and the faithful dog that stood by her side has been hailed a hero. Navy veteran Brittany Fintel, 32, was hiking to the summit of the volcano with her German shepherd, Indy, when she slipped on ice and plummeted 300 feet down a steep slope. “Once I slipped, I thought I was dead,” said Fintel. Her loyal companion scurried down the slope to come to her aid, and he never left her side.
