Endangered Pandas, Lions, Tigers and Chimpanzees Are Born in Captivity
September 14, 2020
Around the world, critically endangered species are adding to their numbers, with offspring being born in zoos and nature preserves. A yet-to-be named giant panda was born recently at the Smithsonian National Zoo in Washington, D.C. In the Czech Republic, a litter of Barbary Lion cubs entered the world in July. And South China Tiger quadruplets were born at the Shanghai Zoo. There are only 200 South China Tigers in existence, making them rarer than pandas.
