Girls Say They're 'Liver Sisters' After Receiving Transplant From Same Donor
Two girls who aren't related now consider themselves "liver sisters." 17-year-old Kendall and 11-month-old Ava were both in need of liver transplants. After an eligible donor passed away, doctors at Lurie Children's Hospital in Chicago wanted to help both patients by splitting the liver into two. Ava got 30 percent and Kendall got 70 percent. After a combined 12 hours of surgery both girls are doing much better. InsideEdition.com's Mara Montalbano (https://twitter.com/MaraMontalbano) has more.
