Hotel Where Elizabeth II Became Queen in Kenya Closed Ahead of 70th Anniversary
It was 70 years ago that then-Princess Elizabeth was on a trip to Kenya when she received news that her father, King George VI, passed away and she would begin her reign. It’s a historical event recognized fondly by Kenyans, but one that has become difficult to celebrate since the hotel where Elizabeth spent her last night as princess was closed due to COVID.
