Retailers are locking up more products than ever due to brazen thieves. Everything from baby formula to toothpaste is now locked away, creating frustration for customers. Inside Edition investigated how long customers it could take for workers to unlock items that are behind lock and key. We visited five Targets, five Walmarts and five CVS stores in New York and New Jersey. At one Walmart, it took 40 minutes to pick up three items. Walmart and CVS did not respond to our request for comment. Target did not address the wait times but tells Inside Edition they are committed to combatting theft and retail crime.
