Live Bear Joins News Conference With Candidate for California Governor

The race to recall California’s Governor got interesting when a candidate showed up to a news conference with a live bear. Businessman John Cox has been running ads positioning himself as a “beast” compared to the “beauty” that is Gov. Gavin Newsom. Cox brought Tag, the Kodiak bear, to a news conference to drive home the point. It was also a symbolic gesture, as a bear, albeit a grizzly, appears on California’s state flag.
