New York City Dogwalker Arrested After Walking Canines Without Leashes
August 13, 2021
A woman was placed in cuffs in New York’s Riverside Park for the crime of walking her dogs off-leash. She says at first the officers were going to let her go with a warning, but she did not have identification on her. Instead, she was taken to a holding cell and handcuffed for two hours before being released, she says. The Parks Department defended what happened, saying that what's not on video is the woman becoming confrontational and not cooperating when she was asked to show her ID.
