Prison officials are taking extraordinary measures to protect the safety of Ghislaine Maxwell while she is being held in a federal detention center in Brooklyn. Maxwell, the former confidante of Jeffrey Epstein, is being issued a prison uniform made of paper. She’ll also have a cellmate, and will be monitored around the clock. Authorities want to prevent Maxwell from befalling a fate similar to Epstein, who died in his cell in August 2019.
