Met Gala Security Increases Amid Pro-Palestinian Protests

This year’s Met Gala event is going ahead amid fears of disruption by pro-Palestinian protesters who have caused chaos on college campuses. A "citywide day of rage" is scheduled to begin at Hunter College less than a mile from the event. The Met Gala was targeted by climate activist protesters last year. Police are expected to keep any pro-Palestinian groups as far away as possible. "The NYPD will have adequate security deployment," a police statement says.
