Singers Perform Ukraine’s National Anthem in Lviv After Russian Missile Attack
Just hours after Russian missiles struck the Ukrainian city of Lviv, a group of opera singers gathered in the city center to perform their country’s national anthem. The lyrics of the State Anthem of Ukraine read, in part: “thou art not dead, Ukraine.” The patriotic song continues, “As in Springtime melts the snow, so shall melt away the foe, And we shall be masters in our own home.” It’s become a popular rallying cry for those who support Ukraine against the Russian invasion.
