The Sad Last Days of Former Child Star Dana Plato
A new documentary on child star Gary Coleman is renewing focus on the tragic fate of his co-star Dana Plato. Plato was just 14 when she appeared with Coleman on the hit sitcom 'Diff'rent Strokes.' But behind the scenes, she was already using drugs. After the sitcom ended, Plato fell on hard times. In 1999, Inside Edition found Plato living in an Oklahoma motel. She claimed to be clean and sober, and was full of energy. But just weeks later, she would be dead from a drug overdose.
