Supreme Court Gives Some Presidential Immunity to Trump

In a controversial 6-to-3 decision, the United States Supreme Court ruled that former presidents are immune from criminal prosecution for their official duties, but not for unofficial acts. Former President Donald Trump is facing federal charges in Washington, D.C. and state charges in Georgia over allegations that he plotted to overturn the 2020 election results. In Florida, Trump faces federal charges for allegedly keeping classified documents at Mar-a-Lago after losing the 2020 election.
