As America gushes over Meghan Markle's status as a future royal, more is being learned about her 73-year-old father, Thomas Markle.
He lives in Rosarito, Mexico, in an apartment located on a bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean, where he can enjoy a breathtaking view at sunset. There is a modest gatehouse to his neighborhood as Inside Edition.
Much of this remote seaside town has humble homes and businesses that are a far cry from the regal lifestyle his daughter will soon be living in the United Kingdom.
Tom Markle keeps a low profile in Rosarito. The former TV lighting director lives there full time after filing for personal bankruptcy in 2016, claiming he had total assets of just under $4,000.
Despite the remote location, there are some places that will remind him of home, like a local Burger King and a Walmart, where he has been spotted.
He shops at the local grocery store, and is reported to have bragged to folks, “Have you heard of Meghan Markle? I am her dad.”
It's unclear whether Meghan Markle will visit her father in Mexico before the wedding, but the palace has said she will travel before she saying "I do" to Prince Harry.
