Siobahn Graceley's West University Place home in Texas was broken into over the weekend.

“Please. Please. Return it.”

That’s what one Texas mother is pleading after the ashes of her son were taken when their West University Place home was burglarized on Saturday.

Siobahn Graceley and her family were out of town over the weekend, and returned Monday afternoon to find their house had been broken into, her sister Caroline Baizen said on Facebook.

The back door was smashed in, the master bedroom was ransacked and the burglars got away with several pieces of jewelry. Electronics and designer handbags were not taken from the home, the family said.

“The most devastating part is the fact that they stole a small white ceramic cube containing my infant nephew’s ashes,” Baizan wrote. “It is a white cube with a small teddy bear on one side.”

Graceley told KTRK that her son died as an infant, and the box containing his ashes had not been opened since.

Baizen said she believes the burglars assumed the box contained jewelry but worries the box was tossed when they realize there was nothing valuable inside.

“I am appealing to all joggers, walkers and nannies,” Baizen said. “If you come across this urn in the street, please turn it into [West University Police Department].”
