Morgan Beck is mourning their late daughter with a poignant first day of school photo.
Beck, a renowned beach volleyball star and wife of Olympic skier Bode Miller, posted side-by-side Instagram photos of her children’s back-to-school pictures from this year and last year.
Noticeably absent in the first photo is their daughter, 19-month-old Emeline Grier Miller, who died two months ago after falling in a neighbor's pool in June.
Paramedics performed lifesaving measures but she did not survive.
Yesterday was the first day of school for our kids," Beck wrote in the post. "It’s a day we always look forward to with excitement. But all I can see is Nash’s face and the giant hole that was created between last year’s picture and this year’s picture."
Beck, who is pregnant with the couple’s third child, added, "This heartache doesn’t need to belong to any parents."
