The father of two has been missing for 10 days after he was last seen arguing with two men on surveillance footage.
A New York man sent one last text eerie text message to his mother before going missing for nearly two weeks.
Michael Stewart, 40, texted his mother “Please help me mom” before disappearing. Stewart was last seen on Dec. 20 leaving O’Neill’s Irish Pub in Staten Island that evening.
Thirty minutes later, at around 7 p.m., Stewart was seen on surveillance footage arguing with several people outside a barbershop not far from his home, according to the New York Daily News.
Police are reportedly treating the case as a homicide, and his family told the paper they feel he was murdered.
“It doesn’t look good,” Stewart’s aunt, Roxanne, said. “They’re not telling the extent of whether he’s dead or not. They can’t tell us that, they said, but I know right now the homicide [squad] is on it.”
The dad of a 4-year-old daughter and 11-year-old son, Stewart missed Christmas with his family.
"He loves his daughter. She’s been crying every night for him. She’s starting to see that something’s wrong,” Roxanne added to the New York Post.
Stewart is 5-foot-7 and weighs about 170 pounds, authorities said.
A GoFundMe campaign titled “Help us find Mikey” has raised nearly $500 of $2,000 so the family can hire a private investigator.
“We would like to help put his mom at ease and bring him home to his daughter who is asking for him,” the GoFundMe page reads.
