She would have made $15,000 a month.
Omarosa Manigault Newman has released yet another secretly recorded tape, this one featuring a phone call she had with the president's daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, who is married to Eric Trump.
In the tape, Lara appears to offer Manigault Newman a $180,000-a-year job to work for the president’s re-election committee.
"And that all the money that we raise and that pays salaries is directly from donors, small-dollar donors for the most part. So, I know you, you were making $179 at the White House. And I think we can work something out where we keep you right along those lines," Lara says on the recording.
"Specifically, let me see, I haven't even added up the numbers. But we were talking about, like, $15K a month. Let me see what that adds up to. Times 12. Yeah. So that's $180,000. Does that sound like a fair deal for you?"
According to Manigault Newman, the tape was recorded just days after she was fired from the White House last year.
Manigault Newman told Inside Edition that the “plain and simple” reason they offered her a job on the campaign was “they thought they could silence me.”
In a statement Thursday after the tape was released, Lara hit back at Manigault Newman.
"Woman to woman, I shared a connection with Omarosa as a friend and a campaign sister, and I am absolutely shocked and saddened by her betrayal and violation on a deeply personal level. I hope it’s all worth it for you, Omarosa, because some things you just can’t put a price on," Lara said in a statement.
"That’s why I reached out to offer her a position with the 2020 Trump campaign before we knew anything about the gross violations of ethics and integrity during her White House tenure."
Another bombshell revelation from Manigault Newman’s book "Unhinged” is that first lady Melania Trump is "counting the minutes" until President Trump's term of office is over so she can divorce him.
"I actually adore Melania, but what she has had to endure with her husband cheating on her with porn stars and Playmates and being unfaithful – I am not standing from a position of judgment, I am saying that this is not something that a woman deserves," Manigault Newman told Inside Edition.
The first lady's office struck back in a statement, saying, "Mrs. Trump rarely, if ever, interacted with Omarosa.”
In private, the first lady reportedly advised the president to ignore Manigault Newman, but he appears not to have heeded that advice, calling Manigault Newman “a dog” earlier this week on Twitter.
Manigault Newman told Inside Edition she was unaware of the first lady telling her husband to ignore her.
Vanity Fair magazine reports that the president is so upset about former “Apprentice” contestant's tell-all book he wants Attorney General Jeff Sessions to arrest her.
"The question is, what is Donald Trump so afraid of?" Manigault Newman asked Inside Edition, adding she doesn't "fear anything," including his reported threats of arrest.
"I am not an attorney and I can’t even pretend to know what is in the mind of Donald Trump," she said when asked whether she believes he could order her arrest.
Lara Trump is a former Inside Edition producer.
