The extent of the officer's injuries is not clear.
One Colorado deputy was shot and killed and four others injured while responding to a domestic disturbance at an apartment complex early Sunday, The Douglas County Sheriff's Office said.
Two civilians were also injured by the suspect's gunfire. The suspect was later shot and is presumed dead, the sheriff's office said.
The incident happened in a Denver suburb Sunday morning and authorities previously issued a "code red alert," saying the situation was “active."
They also said citizens should avoid the area, while residents were advised to shelter in place and avoid windows and exterior walls.
The FBI’s field office in Denver has offered to help however possible.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with our law enforcement partners and all those impacted by today’s senseless act of violence,” the agency branch tweeted.
The extent of the officers’ injuries is unknown.
