The rapper died from a suspected overdose.
Mac Miller was dead for hours before his body was discovered in his Los Angeles County bedroom and paramedics were called, according to a report.
The 26-year-old rapper died from a suspected overdose, several reports said. When police and EMTs arrived, they determined the popular entertainer had died before they got there, TMZ reported Thursday.
The site also obtained 911 audiotape of male caller summoning help last Friday afternoon, pleading with the operator to "Please hurry." In the heavily redacted tape, the caller can be heard sobbing before hanging up.
The Los Angeles County Coroner's Office has said toxicology reports are still pending. An official cause of death has not been released.
Citing law enforcement sources, the site said investigators think the San Fernando Valley home was cleared of drugs or paraphernalia before authorities were called.
Miller released his latest record “Swimming” on Aug. 3, and was recently in the headlines following a charge of DUI in May after he crashed his car into a pole in Los Angeles.
He had dated singer Ariana Grande for two years, and the couple split earlier this year.
Miller was born Malcolm McCormick in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in 1992. By 2007, he began releasing mixtapes under the name EZ Mac before changing his name to Mac Miller.
