The dessert delinquent did the unthinkable.
After a viral video showed a teen licking a tub of Blue Bell ice cream at a store and then putting it back in the freezer, police announced they have tracked down the dessert delinquent.
The shocking incident took place in a Walmart in Lufkin, Texas, police said. A video posted to Twitter showed her taking a tub of Tin Roof flavor ice cream from the freezer, taking off the lid and licking the contents inside. She then put the lid back on and returned the tub to the freezer.
The video, uploaded user @BlindDensetsu, has been viewed more than 10 million times.
But the video got unwanted attention from local authorities and Blue Bell itself. The company said it was taking the issue "very seriously" and was working with law enforcement.
And on Friday, Lufkin police said officers had identified the person in the video and interviewed her, along with her boyfriend, who apparently recorded the video. She is a juvenile and her identity is therefore protected under state law, the department said.
Local police turned the case over to the Texas Juvenile Justice Department, and it remains under investigation.
