Leanne Redden, a Massachusetts woman, went missing in April 2013 in the area of the town of Lynn with her boyfriend, who died just months after her disappearance, according to reports.
State police from both New Hampshire and Massachusetts searched a private property in Barrington, New Hampshire, Wednesday in connection with the 2013 disappearance of Leeanne Redden, according to reports.
Redden, a Massachusetts woman, went missing in April 2013 in the area of the town of Lynn with her boyfriend, who died just months after her disappearance, according to reports.
Lynn, which is just 3.7 miles north of the Boston and below Salem, is the eighth-largest municipality in Massachusetts, according to the town records.
Redden’s family tells WCVB that Leeanne’s boyfriend had ties to the area that police were searching Wednesday.
Redden’s family tells WCVB they were contacted by investigators on Wednesday, letting them know the search was connected to their missing loved one.
"This is actually one of the best hopes we've had in this long journey," Amy Robinson, Redden's sister, told the news outlet.
Amy Robinson also spoke to WMUR and said, “They [police] actually told us nothing. They feel as though it's going in the right direction.”
The New Hampshire property owner where the land was searched Wednesday bought the house and land seven months ago. He told WCVB that he was surprised when he learned that investigators were going to be searching his parcel.
Police have not released any information about the search.
Inside Edition Digital has reached out to Essex County State Police Detective Unit and the Lynn police for comment and has not heard back.
A spokesperson for New Hampshire State Police tells Inside Edition Digital in an email, "The search has concluded at the scene. We’d defer to the Essex County DA’s Office for information or a statement."
"At the request of the Essex County State Police Detective Unit and the Lynn police, the New Hampshire State Police is conducting a search in furtherance of an investigation into a decades-old missing person case out of Essex County, Massachusetts,' District Attorney Paul Tucker said in a statement to the press. "We recognize the losses suffered by families with missing loved ones and want them to know that they are not forgotten."
Redden's case remains unsolved. She is described as 5-foot-2, 105 pounds, with curly black hair and blue eyes. She has a tattoo of a cross with the words "Forgive Me Father" on her upper back, a sunflower tattoo on her lower back, and a tattoo of a cross on the middle finger of her left hand.
Massachusetts State Police urge anyone with information to contact them.
